My client a developer of wireless based clinical diagnostics devices is looking
for Assay Development Scientists to be involved in the development
of biomarker assays that use surface acoustic wave detection technology.
Primary Responsibilities
- To design and develop biological assays including direct immunoassays,
two-site assays, and particle based assays for application on surface acoustic
wave (SAW) biosensor devices.
- Designing and executing experiments to identify key factors for
manufacturability and further development of the SAW biosensors.
- Developing and modifying the current sensor technology to meet the needs of
development pipeline assays.
- The development of reagent systems and the adaptation of assays from standard
assay formats to biochip format.
- Laboratory record keeping, data handling and the generation of reports.
- Standard laboratory practices such as the maintenance and calibration of
laboratory equipment to comply with quality system requirements.
Requirements
- A degree, or relevant experience, in chemistry, biochemistry or an
alternative biomedical science subject with a practical working knowledge of
immunoassay design and development.
- Experience of biosensor technology is desirable but not essential.
- Industry experience in the development of clinical immunoassays or diagnostic
tests would be desirable.
- A working knowledge of quality systems is also desirable.
- A highly motivated self starter is required for this role
