I am looking for a Field Applications Support Specialist to provide support for
my clients system for analyzing complex genetic information. The position
based in the Netherlands or Germany combines a high level of technical competence with excellent communication
skills. The job involves training and supporting existing customers in the areas
of biology, hardware, software and data analysis. Another important aspect
of the position involves pre-sales presentations alongside the sales team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support to users of the system and related technologies
through both remote and on-site customer interactions throughout West Germany
and the Netherlands. Common elements of the support effort will entail
answering customer inquiries by oral and written communication, instructing
individuals in the use of the systems and related technologies through technical
seminars, system demonstrations and on-site training. On-going support
responsibilities for the technology and products will require managing customer
expectations, troubleshooting problems, corrective actions, and maintaining
records of customer communications and technical support functions in company
files.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The position requires a PhD/Master's degree in biomedical or life-sciences,
at least 3 years experience in laboratory research using molecular biology
techniques and practical experience of data analysis. While customer support
experience is highly desirable. Qualified applicants will have excellent
computer operation experience and understanding in a PC environment. It requires
strong written and oral communication skills and flexibility to work with
various personality types in an effective manner. Position requires business
travel experience as well as the ability to travel overnight and on weekends.
The successful candidate must have good Dutch and preferably German language
skills and possess a clean driving license.
