My client is a contract research company specialising in the provision of
structural biology and chemistry services to major pharmaceutical and
biotechnology firms, covering all aspects of the drug development. They are also
developing a pipeline of pre-clinical drugs and targets. They are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help the Management Team move the
business forward to a new level of performance.
The main purpose of the role is finding
new clients for their service operations and managing the commercial process -
from initiating contact through to completion of a contract - whilst working
closely with their expert scientists on the technical details. This is an
excellent opportunity for someone wishing to develop their career in this field.
The ideal candidate will have at least
two years experience in business development / sales in the biotechnology sector
and will have developed an excellent network of relevant business contacts.
A strong background in chemistry together with a proven track record in customer
relations and negotiations including familiarity with the construction of
contracts are essential.
