My client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Web
Technologies Group to do the Technical design, testing, implementation, control,
and maintenance of their Web systems and software. The Web Technologies Group is
responsible for the evaluation, acquisition, installation and certification of
Web technology.
Responsibilities include:
• Creating standards for deploying Web based applications.
• Evaluating E-business requirements
• Recommending implementation approaches and active support development and
testing
• Ensuring High Availability of Tivoli Access Manager components
• Formulation and delivery of Tivoli Solutions
• Integration of Web Systems Architecture and TAM software with other existing
DTCC Systems
Principal Responsibilities:
Responsible for Installation and Administration, Clustering, Fail-over,
Configuration, Deployment and Troubleshooting of TAM and other web systems
software.
Works with various application teams and develops relationships. Technically
configures, manages, and implements complex project deliverables (including HTTP
and Application Servers). Researches, evaluates, and recommends technical
solutions to correct or improve infrastructure project deliverables. Works
efficiently with technical staff to identify and troubleshoot complex technical
delivery issues, and resolve or escalate these issues appropriately throughout
the organization. Participates in infrastructure certification/load tests to
identify potential bottlenecks in the application or infrastructure
architecture.
Gives direction and guidance to other technicians.
Responds to emergency web application outages; identifies, documents, and
corrects causes of outages.
Develops long-term business continuity and high-availability standards with Lead
Engineers and management for the Web Technology Group.
Certifies a supportable web infrastructure through each project phase using
defined standards.
Acts as a technical escalation point for less-senior staff.
Acts as a project leader, or a Sr. direct technical resource when required.
Experience:
• Experience supporting enterprise Internet/Intranet servers.
• Experience with Tivoli Access Manager for e-Business
• Experience with WebSphere software
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy servers,
• Experience working on a Unix Platform, preferably AIX or Solaris
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Requires a broad knowledge of all aspects of the infrastructure delivery
lifecycle, preferable an individual with a web site or ISP support background.
• Requires understanding of Internet network technologies, specifically Load
Balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, and proxy servers. Requires experience in J2EE
Application Deployment and Management.
• Requires some Unix administration skills, including TCP/IP administration as
well as shell scripting abilities.
• Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment
and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with IT management
and other groups throughout the organization.
• Requires Tivoli Access Manager experience on a Unix platform, WebSphere is a
