Job Title:            Metrologist

My client is a global precision technology company operating at the highest levels of accuracy within the field of metrology. They provide measurement solutions to the most demanding applications with a worldwide infrastructure to support their clients.

They are looking for a
Metrologist to provide customer metrology support by training, demonstration, UKAS Official Calibrations, contract measurement, UKAS test reports, measurement reports, R & R studies, Technical information generation and the provision of a Helpdesk facility.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To provide sales demonstration guidelines to the sales force to improve company image and sales figures.
  • Preparation of detailed training packages for customers and internal staff to improve customer support and sales
  •  To understand and comply with the policies and procedures of both the company and UKAS laboratory quality systems (ISO 9002/ISO 17025) providing optimum customer satisfaction and ensuring the UKAS laboratory maintains its accreditation on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with customers for their UKAS calibration, test measurement report, or contract measurement requirements to optimise company business.
  • Calibration of standards to obtain results and provide a chargeable traceable certificate or report for customers. Verify statements and results of calibration prior to signing certificates to maintain correct traceability and the laboratory's accreditation
  • Assist in the preparation, review and update of specifications, calibration instructions and departmental procedures to improve the service and profitability of the UKAS laboratory.
  • Assist in the maintenance and re-commission of the laboratory equipment to verify correct set up and operation.
  • Preparation of supporting technical materials for internal/external use to increase technical awareness and customer perception.
  • Provision and manning of a Helpdesk system to improve customer service, company profile and efficiency.
  • Provision of a customer complaints response service integrated into the company communication systems
  • Preparation of R & R study methods and reports to clarify system capabilities both internally and externally.
