My client is an early stage, funded, in-vitro diagnostic company designed to
deliver distributed diagnostics, with centralized data and real-time results.
The goal is to develop and market point of care devices and disposables for the
physician’s office laboratory. My client will create high quality, low
cost systems designed to revolutionize patient care by providing real-time
patient test results to the physician during the period of a patient’s clinical
visit. Their technology will set a new standard of healthcare.
They are looking for a Scientist for their newly created Advanced
Technology Development team. This team focuses on carrying out feasibility
studies to increase the company’s breadth of menu, especially in the areas of
clinical chemistry and immunodiagnostics, and to enhance the organizations
technology portfolio. The successful candidate will work in a
multidisciplinary team to develop new assays for their novel Point of Care
system.

Responsibilities
This position is a practical laboratory based role that provides support to the
Advanced Technology Development’s Senior Scientists and Directors. The position
will involve the planning and execution of both routine and non-routine
experiments using commercial and custom-built laboratory equipment. The skills
and judgment of the successful candidate will significantly impact the
completion of milestone-based assay development goals.
The successful candidate will:-
• As part of a team and under the direction of the team’s Senior Scientists and
Directors, plan and execute experiments to determine the feasibility of clinical
chemistry and immunoassays on my client's platform.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams in the company
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with cGLP and cGMP.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, SOPs and other Quality System documents.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
• BS or MS degree in a Life Sciences discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a commercial environment, preferably in the
IVD industry
• Excellent laboratory skills and the ability to take concepts and transform
them into well defined experimental procedures
• Knowledge of clinical chemistry and immunoassay methods is a must. Basic
knowledge of electrochemistry is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and IT literacy are required.
