Job Title:               Senior Sensor Development Scientist

My client is an early stage, funded, in-vitro diagnostic company designed to deliver distributed diagnostics, with centralized data and real-time results. The goal is to develop and market point of care devices and disposables for the physician痴 office laboratory.  My client will create high quality, low cost systems designed to revolutionize patient care by providing real-time patient test results to the physician during the period of a patient痴 clinical visit. Their technology will set a new standard of healthcare.

They are looking for a Senior Sensor Development Scientist for their Sensor R&D  team. The role requires an experienced electrochemist to aid in the further development of its potentiometric polypyrrole sensor technology. The successful candidate will be based in the UK and will design experiments to optimize sensor performance with respect to clinical and immunoassay development.

Responsibilities

This role will be largely laboratory based and will focus on sensor development and manufacturability.  It will involve:-

� Designing and executing experiments to identify key factors for manufacturability and further development of the biosensor.

� Developing and modifying the current sensor technology to meet the needs of development pipeline assays.

� Working with cross-functional teams in both the US and UK.

� Deputising for the Sensor R&D Manager as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

� Ph.D. in electrochemistry or applied physics

� A minimum of 3 years postdoctoral experience

� Practical experience with biosensors is essential.

� Excellent laboratory skills and the ability to take concepts and theories and transform them into well defined experimental procedures.

� Knowledge of clinical chemistry assays and immunoassays would be a distinct advantage.

� Strong communication skills and IT literacy are required.

� A highly motivated self starter is required for this role.
