My client delivers the digital maps and dynamic content powering some of the
world’s most essential navigation and location-based services. The information
is the foundation for a wide range of personal and in-car navigation systems,
mobile and Internet map applications that help users find the people, places,
products, and services they need.
They are looking for a GIS Specialist to ensure the continued accuracy of their
map software.
Role Functions
- Plan, manage, execute, evaluate and design activities related to specific
database projects (POI’s, Index areas, customer feedback loop…releases).
- Analysis of different formats (dwg,dxf,shp,e00,tab,dgn,txt,mdb,xls) in
order to import them evaluation of suppliers’ sourcematerial (accuracy and
georeference) resulted after conversion in different country related
coordinate system. Query of geodata in order to produce statistics and
increase quality output (Eg: statistic quality and coverage of topics in and
outside buildup area, TMC analysis).
- Analysis of TIF to determine quality, regression and progression and
produce statistics.
- Manage a contact network of key information suppliers, including regular
evaluations and assessment of these.
They are looking for a highly motivated, results oriented individual with an
interest and aptitude for cartography. You will hold a relevant degree, or
equivalent, and will have at least 3 years experience in surveying /
cartography. This will be combined with in-depth PC skills (MS Office with MS
Access in particular) and a knowledge of GIS packages such as ArcView and
Mapinfo. You will possess a full driving license
