Job Title:                Bluetooth Headset Product Manager

Key skills:              Embedded Applications Software Development

We are looking for a Bluetooth Headset - Product Manager for our client to ensure that customer requirements are communicated effectively and that the latest headset technologies are deployed to customers as quickly as possible.

The role will involve the following activities:

Developing detailed new product specifications
Establishing best practice in design
Creating compelling demonstrations of the latest headset technology
Explaining headset technology to salespeople and distributors
Explaining headset technology to key customers
Main responsibilities will include

Developing detailed new product specifications

The successful candidate will work closely with product marketing to take raw customer requirements and turn them into a detailed specification for new software, reference designs and chips.

Establishing best practice in headset and headphone design

The successful candidate will work with the applications group and R&D to determining the best system architecture for headsets and headphones using our client's chips and software.

Creating compelling demonstrations of the latest headset technology

The successful candidate will enjoy taking unpolished, chips, software, and example designs and creating compelling customer demonstrations. They will be happy to travel to tradeshows and customer sites to drive the demonstrations

Interacting with salespeople and distributors

The chosen candidate will becoming the centre of expertise for headset technology. He or she will produce technical sales notes and presentations explaining how things work.

Interacting with customers

The successful candidate will help to reply to customer requests for information (RFIs). He or she will answer presales questions from customer engineers

The ideal candidate will have a background in software applications engineering, ideally with a semiconductor company. He or she will enjoy talking to customers, and will relish the opportunity to take their place in a high performing team.

Bluetooth headsets are rapidly turning from mono to stereo so experience of working with audio products will be an advantage. Though this is primarily a software position some dexterity with a soldering iron is desirable.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will relish working with people. Pragmatic and imaginative he or she will be able to thrive in a relatively unstructured environment which offers many opportunities. He or she will have a willingness and capacity to learn quickly.

The individual:

Must have 3+ years of software support or development or experience
Must have experience of debugging embedded software
Must be able to work in and contribute in a technical environment
Must be able to take ownership of projects with minimum supervision
Must be able to communicate at all levels
Must have experience of direct customer contact
May have experience or working with third parties and/or sub contractors
May have some hardware experience
May have experience of communication protocols
May have experience of Bluetooth
