Job Title:          Project Engineers - Wind Engineering

My client is a specialist wind engineering consultancy providing services to consultants and designers of large civil structures including stadia, tall buildings and long span bridges.  In particular, the department provides consultancy services based on small-scale boundary layer wind tunnel modelling. The group is highly client focussed and prides itself on delivering high technical quality on landmark projects to tight timescales and to a high degree of customer satisfaction.

The group is undergoing rapid growth and a number of vacancies currently exist for project managers and project engineering positions:

Project  Engineer
They are looking for Project Engineers, Degree qualified, ideally 1st or 2:1 in aerospace / mechanical / wind engineering or related engineering disciplines with either post graduate experience or working experience in aerospace or consulting engineering organisations.  Someone who is familiar with wind tunnel test techniques & data analysis techniques for unsteady & bluff body aerodynamics together with good problem solving ability and striking a good balance between application of complex academic principles and application of engineering judgement.  Good written and verbal communication skills are required with an ability to work with commitment and accuracy under pressure with a high degree of self-motivation.

The role will include drafting of technical & commercial proposals, technical reporting, liaising with Clients.

Candidate Profile
The preferred candidates will have the following qualifications:

A higher degree in aerospace / mechanical / wind engineering or related engineering disciplines
Familiarity with wind tunnel test techniques and data analysis techniques for unsteady & bluff body aerodynamics
Good problem solving ability striking a good balance between application of complex academic principles and application of engineering judgement
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with commitment and accuracy under pressure with a high degree of self-motivation while operating as a team player at all times
Good multi-tasking ability
Good time management skills
