Our client is a UK biotechnology company.

They are looking for Synthetic Organic Chemists to be responsible for the semi-synthetic modification of novel natural product templates and the de novo synthesis of small organic molecules for biotransformation. With a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in synthetic organic chemistry you will have an excellent understanding of the latest synthetic techniques including chromatographic purification, NMR, HPLC, and other techniques.

As a member of the Chemistry Department, you will be part of a team involved in generating new biologically active compounds for the drug discovery pipeline. Experience acquired in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, in particular with natural products, would be a distinct advantage. Candidates will possess excellent communication and reporting skills and should be keen to acquire new techniques and develop their scientific expertise.
